Bennelong

Located in the Sydney Opera House, Bennelong has been called a “must visit” by many.

The head chef, Peter Gilmore built a menu based on quintessential Australian cuisine.

“Wonderful meal, wine and harbour views.  Exceptional sommelier experience!  The dessert course was nice and of course, we got the pavlova shaped like the Opera House.”

The Stinking Bishop

This unique restaurant is the best cheese restaurant in Sydney.  Famous for its pairings of wine and cheese, it’s a favourite of locals and visitors alike.  

For groups, they put together a Grazing Table.  This is a selected array of cheeses, wines, meats, crackers and seasonal fruits. 

So whether you are looking for a fantastic dinner, a special occasion, or a corporate event, put this on your list of restaurants to visit.

Genovese Coffee House

For coffee lovers, there’s Genovese Coffee House.  Located in a converted warehouse in the backstreets of Alexandria, you know you are going to find something good here, as you catch the scent of coffee as you approach.

First visit to this gorgeous Alexandria cafe – LOVED everything.  Service was super friendly, the coffee was incredible, and loved our food choices!  Fresh, tasty and well-balanced.  The vibe is cool but welcoming.  Can’t wait for our next visit”.

Firedoor

Firedoor specialises in using seasonal ingredients and cooking everything with wood.  The restaurant has two wood-fired ovens, three grills and a wood-burning hearth.  Different woods are used to impart subtle flavours to their dishes.  

With an open kitchen plan, customers can see their meals, as they are being prepared.

A recent review had this to say:

“This restaurant made dining out exciting again.  We immediately felt relaxed and in a warm cosy place like we were in the mountains.  The service and attention to detail on every move was refreshing to see.  Cutlery and plates were replaced at every course and each dish was incredible…”

There are so many great restaurants in Sydney, that any list is going to leave something out. The Australian Tourism Bureau has put together its own list.  

Regardless of the list you use, Sydney is filled with great restaurants.  Get out and find one that you enjoy.
