This skin cycling routine is one the beauty trend which is believed to achieve the perfect Korean glass skin trend. What is the Skin Cycling Trend?

Skin cycling is a beauty trend introduced by a dermatologist named Dr. Whitney Bowe about 4 important steps of skin treatment that can’t be missed or altered in order. This method focuses on four steps that over four days only at night.

Ahead for more detail these are steps from skin cycling routine:

#Night 1 : Exfoliate

This first step of skin cycling stage will focus on exfoliation. Dr. Bowe asks us to use chemical exfoliant (not physical exfoliants). Chemical exfoliants is skincare products that contains AHA ingredients, like Glycolic Acid with ingredient that make your skin glow instantly. But please note, after done this step, you need to continue applying moisturizer to make your skin barrier is keep maintained.

#Night 2: Retinol

This second step will focus on using retinol-based skincare. Generally, skincare with retinol is known with strong effects on some skin types. With this ingredients needs to be used interchangeably with other ingredients to avoid skin inflammation. You need to apply moisturizer first, especially in areas such as the mouth, eyes, corners of the nose, or neck. On this step, moisturizer functions so that the skin can adapt to lower retinoid concentrations. On this step you can apply skincare containing retinol after cleansing your face or applying moisturizer. Retinol itself functions to increase collagen production which can help cell turnover quickly and overcome problems such as acne, hyperpigmentation and skin texture problems.

#Night 3 &4 : Skin Recovery

The last two days in the skin cycling steps are recovery nights. These two nights are called recovery nights because in the previous two days, the skin has received active ingredients that are quite hard, such as Glycolic Acid to retinol. Therefore, the last two days are used to soothe the skin and focus on nourishing it. On the third and fourth day, you need to use skincare product to nourish the skin and repair the skin barrier.

Conclusions

Those steps above are only done at night, you still have to maintain healthy skin in the morning. The trick is to keep using skincare such as cleansers, serums, moisturizers, and of course sunscreen. Only in the evening you can do four days of treatment.

If you have reached the 4th night stage, you can return to the 1st night stage by using exfoliating skincare.
